Making a change
Never underestimate the valuable and important difference you make in every life you touch. For the impact you make today has a powerful rippling effect on every tomorrow. “- Anonymous Many of the problems in this world are generated by a lack of care or desire to influence positively in some sort. Many of us forget that when we make a splash there will be ripples caused by the splash we create no matter how big or how small you think your role is on this earth, you have to realize that you are influencing someone, somewhere, somehow. Change” is a word that seems like a great idea when directed towards someone else. Change can be positive or negative and I believe only positive changes should be brought forth on the people of a society if in fact can help more than it hinders and is for the prospective side of the future as a whole and not the pocket of few. There were times people got along with no technologies, there were times when cancer, aids, leukemia and mental illness did not run through our homes.
In that I find that movement or change doesn’t mean spend more money, find better technologies, sometimes it can mean changing your frame of mind, the way you deal with your society and those around you. But it can also trigger fear and resistance in a second if someone says you need to do it, even if you are toying with the idea that something needs to change or move to action to create a different outcome, change becomes part of the equation. Caring about something, a person, place or idea, you decide whether you help that being.
Whether you want to be in use and act in service of that concept rather than going against it. Whether the change is drastic or mild; you will never really know the impact that you had on someone else’s life. There are people in the world that are soldiers, people that are workers, people that re dreamers, people that are believers and people that are helpers. But many normally resist making innovation even if they have no problem with their current life. No one surly knows if they will still be k tomorrow, since the world changes.
Whether you are black or brown, fat or skinny, big or small, young or old, simply question and do something about your answers. Encourage someone through action or influence because life is always going to be full of people who have less than you. Never Believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For, indeed that’s all who ever did. When I was younger I was told, “what you do to make a difference, decided what kind of difference you want to make”. I wanted to make a difference. My goal was to help at least one disable child not feel different amongst the “normal”.
I was able to understand that having a disability was difficult towards not being able to do many things. I never liked being treated differently because of my personal issues, why would they want to be treated differently because of their disadvantages? What I was able to do is change a girl’s perspective about life. She thought that life was cruel and mean to her because of her disadvantages. She was depressed hated herself because of her disadvantages she though she couldn’t be beautiful. Towards the end she had told me, “what’s the point of life anymore”.
I wanted to change Alice view and focus on the positive than the negative. Through time, I was able to have her feel happy and proud about being herself and not listen to those around her with negative thoughts. I was able to have her believe in herself and try harder and understand that she is beautiful. Making a difference to have that one change doesn’t have to rely on many but Just one. Helping at least one child got me o understand that I can do much more than Just helping one but many more Just by believing.
It is easy to feel too small to make a difference as only of more than 9 billion people on this planet but no matter what people say words and ideas can change the world. We must become the change we want to see in the world around us. Change the moment, change the day, and let’s change the time so we can change the future. Make someone smile whenever you can, you never know how much of a difference you could be making in their life at that moment. “Making one person smile can change the world. Maybe not the whole world, but their world”- anonymous
