The two stories that I decided to compare and contrast were “The Most Dangerous Games” by Richard Connell and “Interlopers” by Kaki. I decided to do these two stories because while reading them, I actually found interest in both books and thought they were really good short stories. I also thought that both stories were very descriptive and both sent a very powerful message. The first similarity in both stories is someone had got eaten by an animal.

In “The Most Dangerous Game” the ND resulted in a fight between Rainstorm and Carrot and the loser would get fed to the dogs, while the winner would get a nice bed to sleep on. Likewise in “The Interlopers” After Lurch and George met face to face, a storm struck a birch tree Just right over their heads pinning both of them to the ground. Minutes after trading insults and making up, they finally thought help is on the way in the end it turns out to be wolves. Another similarity is both characters had deep hate for one another.

In The Most Dangerous Game” Rainstorm hated Carrot because he was hunting innocent men for the Joy of killing them. In “The Interlopers” Lurch Von Grading hated George because he was hunting on his land and George hated Lurch because he claims that the land was his. In both the characters are avid hunters, and that hobby leads to the man verses man conflict. General Carrot found his end with the help of his cockiness, and George and Lurch von Graduate are killed in the forest they both see as theirs.

In both stories characters are killed with something in their possession. “And before the moment of hesitation had given way to action, a deed of Nature’s own violence overwhelmed them both. A fierce shriek of the storm had been answered by a splitting crash over their heads, and ere they could leap aside, a mass of falling beech tree had thundered down on them. ” from The Interlopers. This shows irony between man vs… Nature, man vs… Self, and man vs… Man.

This also goes for “The Most Dangerous Game” because both General Carrot and Rainstorm were against ACH other, they both had to go against challenges with nature, and they both had problems within themselves that they had to go through. These two stories are alike and different and so many ways. They have both taught me that you go through many struggles in life. You are going have disagreements with people and sometimes one person isn’t going to want to try and fix the problem. And when this happens, you are going to want to try and fix the problem one step at a time. Instead of Just fighting and arguing with the person.
